Tattenham Health Centre – Fees for Non NHS Services

Certain services are not covered by the NHS. These include private medical certificates, insurance claim forms for patients who have medical insurance and holiday cancellations etc.

Why is there a charge?

The cost of these letters and reports are not covered by the NHS. All letters require the doctor to take time to review a patient’s medical records to ensure that the information provided is correct, and for a letter to be produced. This work is done outside of normal surgery time.

Content

We are not able to accept requests for ‘the doctor must write these exact words’. The GP can only write what they know, and what is recorded on your medical record. Both the letter and the opinion they produce is final and you cannot request changes to be made.

Fees

Our fees include the doctor’s time in completing the work out of surgery time, administration and printing and sending out documents where needed, or sending documents electronically. There is no fee to request a copy of your medical record.
